  • Emory Police Department received a report of stalking involving an 18-year-old female student and resident of Hopkins Hall. The student stated that between Sept. 30 and Feb. 12, a male subject with whom she had a prior relationship  has been sending her text messages and attempting to contact her. The student told officers that their relationship ended six months ago. The subject involved in the incident was last seen on Emory’s campus on Nov. 19. The Division of Campus Life was notified of the incident and the information has been turned over to an investigator.
  • A 22-year-old female student has reportedly been receiving harassing text messages from an unknown number. The student reported that the text messages were in reference to a test she had administered on Feb. 19 and Feb. 22. The information has been turned over to an investigator.
  • A theft occurred from the second floor of the pediatric clinic on Feb. 22 at approximately 2:20 p.m. A female staff member at the location reported that she left her wallet and purse inside her desk drawer in her office at the location and later discovered that someone had removed her wallet from her purse. Her wallet contained a $50 bill and her driver’s license , and the wallet itself is valued at $25.
  • EPD received a third party report on Feb. 22 at 3:45 p.m. The caller stated that a male student broke into her female friend’s dorm room and assaulted her. The assault occurred sometime between Aug. 1 and Dec. 1, but there is no further information available at this time.
  • An argument occurred between two Emory students, a 19-year-old female student and a 19-year-old male student, on Feb. 23 at 1:15 p.m. The argument became loud enough to disrupt neighbors in the residence hall. EPD officers responded to the location and made contact with the two individuals. The officer took statements from each student and the Division of Campus Life was notified of the incident.
  • EPD officers made contact with a 48-year-old male subject in the Woodruff Memorial Building lobby on Feb. 23 on 5:20 p.m. The subject appeared to be having a conversation with himself and smelled faintly of alcohol. The subject told officers that he was trying to catch the shuttle. Officers made contact with the subject’s brother, who said he would meet him at the Decatur train station. Emory Emergency Medical Services arrived and checked the subject to determine whether he needed any medical help. Officers then waited with the subject until his brother arrived.
