- Emory Police Department (EPD) received a report on Oct. 19 at 1:48 p.m. of an unknown male subject shouting, “People need to repent.” The subject was wearing glasses, a black coat, a yellow shirt and blue jeans. An EPD officer located the subject and found that he was a 22-year-old student. The officer contacted the student’s mother and met with her at the location. The officer also suggested to the student that he look for other ways to reduce his stress level. The Division of Campus Life was notified.
- A male student, born in 1988, contacted EPD to report that he was hit in the face by an unknown male subject as they passed each other in the McDonald’s on North Decatur Road on Oct. 22 at 11:54 p.m. The subject then left McDonald’s and walked toward Publix. The subject, a black male who appeared to be 40 years old, was wearing a red shirt and dark blue jeans. The case information has been turned over to the DeKalb County Police Department.
- EPD officers arrested a white female subject, who was born in 1962, at Asbury Circle on Oct. 23 at 10:20 p.m. The subject drove her car into the restricted section of Asbury Circle behind the McDonough Field stage during the Fall Band Party concert. She honked her car horn continually, acted erratically and threatened to contact the police about the noise from the concert. When a 22-year-old student crossed in front of the subject’s car on his way to find a police officer for the subject, she drove her car forward, striking the student’s leg. The student was not injured. The subject continued to drive down Asbury Circle until EPD officers stopped her. While the officers attempted to obtain information from the subject, she tried to leave the location and almost struck a police officer. A strong odor of alcohol was detected in the vehicle, a dark blue 2007 Volvo. The subject was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of obstruction of a police officer. The case is under active investigation.
