  • Emory Police Department officers patrolling 8 Eagle Row made contact with two individuals on March 21 at 11:45 p.m. One individual attempted to elude the police by running away but was unsuccessful. Officers confiscated less than one ounce of marijuana from the 19-year-old male subject, a resident of New York, who was on campus to visit a 19-year-old Emory student. His citation date is April 16. The Division of Campus Life wat notified.
  • A staff member at Clairmont Campus confiscated drug paraphernalia from students in Clairmont Tower Apartments and turned the items over to EPD on March 23 at 3:24 p.m. The items confiscated include a black and white bong and a red, blue and black pipe. The items were placed in EPD’s property room.
  • A 21-year-old male student contacted EPD after someone went into his room sometime between 4 and 11:30 a.m. on March 18. The student stated that someone stole his laptop from the coffee table near his bed while he was asleep. He further stated that his door had been unlocked during the night. The black Macbook laptop is valued at $1,300. There are no suspects at this time.
  • On March 19 a 25-year-old staff member of the Emory University Hospital reported receiving the following text message, “At Wal-Mart today 3 women will be shot. It’s even on TV. Send it to all your girlfriends.” The staff member obtained the number of the person who sent the text message and called the number. The person who answered the phone told her they had sent the message to the wrong number.
  • The driver of a 2004 Nissan Maxima with South Carolina license plates reported that someone hit their car sometime on March 24 and caused slight damage to the vehicle. There is no furter information at this time.
  • A 21-year-old male Emory student reported that he left his backpack in the parking lot of Woodruff Residential Center on March 19 at 7:20 p.m. and that when he returned to retrieve his backpack at 8:45 p.m., the bag was gone. The green and black backpack is valued at $60. The backpack also contained a $1,800 Apple Macbook laptop, an $84 calculator and a $35 classroom clicker. The student provided EPD with the serial numbers of the missing items.
