  • A 21-year-old white male student reported that someone stole his wallet from his gym bag at the Woodruff P.E. Center on Jan. 31. The victim further stated that he left his bag at 5 p.m. to play basketball and that when he returned at 5:45 p.m. to retrieve his bag, his wallet was missing. His wallet contained two $25 gift cards, a driver’s license and his Emory card.
  • A 29-year-old staff member reported receiving harassing phone calls on Feb. 10 between 1:45 and 3:15 a.m. The victim said the calls came from a known black male subject, 24. Officers responded to the location and attempted to contact the subject unsuccessfully. The harassing phone calls did not continue after that.
  • Emory Police Department received a report of simply assault on Feb. 11 at 9:18 p.m. that occurred at the Dobbs University Center. The complainant, a 28-year-old black male, stated that he had been assaulted by another coworker, a 24-year-old white male, at the location. The individual who assaulted the victim knocked his hat off and struck him on the forehead. The victem then grabbed his coworker by the jacket to stop him and managed to free himself, at which point he notified EPD. The victim told police that he did not want to press charges and his coworker later admitted to striking him.
  • EPD received a report of suspicious behavior that occurred on Feb. 12 between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. The complainant, a female Emory student, told police that she parked her car in Peavine Parking Deck and observed an individual looking into vehicles at the location. She described him as wearing a dark outfit with a shirt that said “Security” on the back. She told police that she became frightened when the individual followed her from Peavine Parking Deck towards the sorority lodges. The information has been turned over to the Division of Campus Life and the Nored Security Supervisor, and the case is currently under investigation.
  • EPD officers resonded to Dobbs Hall on Feb. 13 at 12:05 a.m. to assist a Resident Adivser who had confiscated less than one ounce of marijuana from residents at the location. The marijuana was found in a room on the second floor, in which there were seven Emory students, including four white male students, two Asian female students and one white female student.
  • EPD dispatched officers to 4 Eagle Row on Feb. 13 at 12:32 a.m. after a student at the location reported that they smelled the odor of marijuana coming from another room. Officers obtained entry into the room in question and confiscated less than one ounce of marijuana, a small silver grinder, a box of rolling papers and a cylinder-shaped device used to smoke marijuana. EPD officers cited the student, 18, for possession of the drugs and his court date is scheduled for March 19 at 2 p.m.
  • EPD officers assited DeKalb County Police Department on Feb. 13 at 4:05 a.m. Officers responded to a personal residence on North Decatur Road after the resident reported a burglary in process. When officers arrived, the owner of the residence had the burglar at gunpoint on the kitchen floor. The subject was taken into custody by the DeKalb County Police Department officers.
