Police Record: April 21, 2011

• Emory Police Department (EPD) received a report of criminal trespass at Trimble Hall on April 13 at approximately 7:30 a.m. The female student who made the call said that a male subject had entered her room at 6:30 a.m., climbed on her desk and urinated on it. When she saw the subject, she yelled at him to stop urinating and to leave her room. When he did not, she asked his roommate to assist him from her room. She informed officers that she preferred to sleep with her door unlocked, in case of a fire. She said she could not tell if the subject was intoxicated or sleepwalking. When officers spoke with friends of the subject, the friends said that they knew he had gone out that night, but they did not know what he had done. Campus Life Professionals were informed of the incident.

• EPD was notified by the DeKalb Police Department on April 14 at about 10:07 p.m. of a citation that the Dekalb Police officers had issued to a male Emory student. Officers gave the student the citation for operating a bicycle on the wrong side of the roadway. The student was operating his bicycle at the intersection of Lowergate Drive and Clifton Road.

• An EPD officer on patrol on April 14 at approximately 1:20 a.m. observed three individuals climbing a tree in the dark at Asbury Circle and taking photographs. The officer talked with the individuals, who identified themselves as Emory students and part of Students & Workers in Solidarity. They said they wanted to hang a banner in the tree as part of a rally against Sodexo. They informed the officer that they did not want to get permission from the administration because the administration “did not like them.” The officer verified that they were students and left the area without taking further action.
