Police Record: March 25, 2011

  • Emory Police Department (EPD) received a report of a theft by taking that occurred between midnight on March 10 and midnight on Mar. 14. The theft consisted of a bicycle stolen from the bike rack in front of Harris Hall. The bicycle was a Cannondale model road bike and sea foam green in color. The owner of the bike had attached it to the rack with a chain, but when she discovered the theft, she found both the chain and bike lock missing as well. The stolen property is valued at approximately $350.
  • EPD responded to a call on March 19 at approximately 6 a.m. regarding an underage student down with alcohol intoxication. The subject was a white male resident of Few Residential Hall at 4 Eagle Row. He was highly inebriated and had urinated in the 2nd floor hallway of the dorm when officers arrived. Officers met with the Resident Advisor at the location and attempted to assist the individual involved. The subject had no response to questions from the officers and had no idea of his location. He was transported to Emory University Hospital.
  • On March 21, EPD officers on patrol at approximately 2 a.m. identified an animal in a car parked in front of the Complex Residential Halls. The officers were concerned about the animal because it did not appear that the owner was in the area, and there was no water in the car for the animal. EPD contacted the owner of the animal, who stated that his son had possession of the car. When the son arrived at the location, it was determined that he was not an Emory student. Officers checked his driver’s license for identification purposes and discovered an outstanding warrant for illegal use of credit cards from another county in Georgia. He was placed under arrest and transported to DeKalb County Jail.
