Police Report: November 23, 2010

  • A student contacted the Emory Police Department (EPD) to report an incident that took place while she had been away from her Clairmont Residential Center apartment between Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. and Nov. 18 at 3 a.m. When she returned to her room, she found a stain with a urine-like odor on her bed. Her roommates stated that while the student had been absent, an ex-boyfriend of hers had visited the apartment and may have entered the student’s room.
  • EPD officers responded to a report that two students were on construction equipment near Turman Residential Center on Nov. 21 between midnight and 12:30 a.m. When the officers made contact with the two male students, one of them stated that the other had been injured. Emory Emergency Medical Services (EEMS) arrived at the location and determined that the injured student had cut his hand after breaking a window at Turman North. The incident was reported to the Division of Campus Life.
  • EPD officers responded to an incident of criminal trespass at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE) fraternity house that occurred on Nov. 21 between midnight and 1 a.m. A member of the fraternity returned to his third-floor room and found a subject, who is not affiliated with the University, in the room and apparently rummaging through his belongings. The fraternity member and other SAE members present at the time stated that they believed two other subjects, who were seen leaving the house at approximately the same time, were also involved. These two other individuals were described as two black males. These individuals were believed to have left the location in a Honda CR-V that was dark in color. Items stolen from two third-floor rooms, where four SAE members reside, included two cameras, $40 in cash, about $200 worth of DVDs and a MacBook laptop valued at $1,200. The case is under ongoing investigation.
