  • The Emory Police Department (EPD) received a report from an employee on April 8 at 6:26 p.m. who stated that she received a telephone call from a former employee who had been previously terminated. The terminated employee reportedly blamed her termination on the other employee. The call was made to the employee’s home, and the case has been turned over to the DeKalb County Police Department.
  • Someone broke into a 19-year-old female resident’s room in Turman Residential Center on April 9 sometime between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. while she was in class. The unknown subject removed a green Sony Vaio laptop valued at $1,000. The case has been turned over to a detective.
  • Pieces of a Fuji 4.0 bicycle were stolen from the bicycle rack outside New Turman Residence Hall sometime between April 10 at 5 p.m. and April 12 at 9:10 p.m. The Emory student who owns the bicycle stated that the front rim and wheel of the bicycle were stolen and are valued at $150.
  • EPD received a report of suspicious activity at Woodruff Library on April 11 that occurred between 7:25 and 8:06 a.m. According to the report, a male subject in his 40s with a slight beard and wearing all black attire may have been following patrons to the library form Fishburne Parking Deck. EPD met with a female employee at the location, who stated that the subject had followed her to the library. Officers made contact with the subject, who told officers he had not been following patrons or the female employee, but that he was lost and did not know where to go. Officers conducted a further field interview and allowed the subject to leave the area.
  • On April 12 between 1:54 and 2:44 a.m., EPD officers responded to Turman North Residence Hall. An 18-year-old female had been dropped off at her dorm after attending a party at Sigma Nu fraternity. The female subject was taken to Emory University Hospital for treatment and the Division of Campus Life was notified.
