- An Emory Police Department (EPD) officer discovered 20 to 25 students drinking and knocking over furniture at Oxford Campus’ Stone Hall on Nov. 5 at 12:50 a.m. The students were all wearing similar dark t-shirts. As the officer approached, the students began to scream loudly and ran away from the area. One residence life coordinator was able to identify many of the students when they regrouped at Haygood Hall. At 2:25 a.m., EPD was contacted by a caller who said that a group of students with a bottle of alcohol and a paddle had gathered at Williams Hall and that there was a strong odor of alcohol at the location. According to the caller’s description, these students were dressed similarly to the group at Stone Hall earlier that night. The Newton County sheriff’s office was contacted about the incident.
- Three Apple iPod Touches were stolen from a display case in the Barnes & Noble campus bookstore sometime between Nov. 5 at 8:00 p.m. and Nov. 8 at 12:00 p.m. The items — with eight, 32 and 64 gigabytes of storage, respectively — were valued at $897 in total.
- EPD reported to the Barnes & Noble campus bookstore on Nov. 10 at 7:32 p.m. in response to a call from the store manager about a tall, slender, male subject — dressed entirely in dark clothing — who might have shoplifted more than $1,000 worth of Apple merchandise from the store. When the officer arrived, the manager identified the subject at the location. The officer gave chase, and the subject fled, dropping an item he had been holding. The subject ran through the Oxford Road building and toward the Math and Science Center, followed by the EPD officer. A white vehicle then drove by, picked up the subject and continued on toward Eagle Row. The officer, who was on foot, was unable to catch the subject. At the bookstore, staff members recovered a two-terabyte Apple Time Capsule — valued at $379 — that the subject may have attempted to steal. The case has been turned over to an investigator.

- Someone stole a mountain bicycle sometime between Aug. 19 at 2 p.m. and Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. A 21-year-old male student reported that he chained his bicycle with a cable lock outside of the School of Medicine, but that both the bicycle and the lock were missing when he went to retrieve them.
- A theft occurred at the Dobbs University Center (DUC) on Sept. 24 sometime between 1:30 and 7 p.m. An 18-year-old male student told Emory Police Department (EPD) that he left his black wallet, valued at $10, in his backpack while he was studying in the DUC. He returned at 7 p.m. to look for his wallet and discovered it was missing. His wallet contained a New Jersey driver’s license. The student reported the theft to EPD the following day, on Sept. 25 at 1:03 a.m.
- EPD received a report on Sept. 25 that two male subjects were running down Eagle Row completely naked. The complainant, a shuttle bus driver, met with officers and stated that the male subjects ran in and around the area of 2 Eagle Row between 4 p.m. and midnight.
- EPD received several noise complainants in reference to a concert on McDonough Field on Sept. 25 between 10:17 p.m. and 12:57 a.m. One noise complaint came from a resident of Oxford Road and a second complaint came from a nurse at the Emory University Hospital. EPD asked that the volume be lowered and the people in charge of the event on McDonough Field complied. The information was turned over to the Division of Campus Life.
- EPD received a report of suspicious activity on Sept. 25 at 10:46 p.m. at the Briarcliff Campus. Somebody reportedly saw a gray vehicle driving around buildings repeatedly at the location. EPD officers arrived at the location and made contact with the drivers of the gray vehicle, who told officers that they were simply practicing driving.
- EPD officers responded to the intersection of Asbury Circle and Pierce Drive on Sept. 26 at 12:25 a.m. in response to a report of underage possession at the location. Officers discovered a 19-year-old male subject who smelled of alcohol. Emory Emergency Medical Services was contacted and the subject was assisted back to his room. The on-call Division of Campus Life professional was notified.
- EPD received a report of reckless driving and speeding from Peavine Parking Deck on Sept. 26 at 8:34 p.m. Officers arrived at the location and met with the complainant, a 56-year-old male staff member, who stated that he had to slam on his brakes in order to avoid a collision with the driver of a blue Volkswagen Passat. EPD officers located the vehicle described by the complainant in Peavine Parking Deck.
- A 41-year-old staff member reported that a male subject has been harassing him by showing up unannounced at his vehicle in Lowergate Parking Deck and wanting to talk. The subject has also been texting the staff member and attempting to contact him at home. The subject has not been aggressive toward the complainant. The staff member told Emory Police Department that this harassing behavior went on between Aug. 30 at 8:30 p.m. and Sept. 6 at 7:45 p.m. EPD was able to make outside referrals to resources for the staff member to handle the situation.
- EPD officers identified three male Emory students on the lawn of the Law School on Sept. 7 at 5:05 a.m. One of the students was very heavily intoxicated and had slurred speech. Officers also observed a bottle of Bacardi rum located near the students at the location. One of the students stated that he lived at 8 Eagle Row and another student admitted to driving the golf cart to pick up the other student. They took the golf cart, belonging to Campus Services, from a Facilities Management building and rode to pick up the third male student. The three students were ages 19, 20 and 21. The Division of Campus Life was notified.
- EPD received a report of public indecency on Sept. 8 at 11:27 p.m. A University staff member who works for Facilities Management stated that they saw two nude male subjects run up Eagle Row. No further information was provided.
- EPD responded to a case of criminal trespassing at Clairmont Residential Center Building F on Sept. 10 at 7:44 p.m. A 20-year-old female Emory student told officers that she had two male visitors in her apartment whom she knew from high school. The visitors reportedly stole some of the complainant’s property while they were in her apartment. The student told police that she asked the visitors to leave and they refused. The subjects finally left the location when the student called EPD.
- A motor vehicle theft occurred on Sept. 11 at 2:23 a.m. from Turman Residential Center. The night manager for Facilities Management, 52, parked his 1997 white Ford van at Turman when he was approached by a male subject. The subject asked the Facilities Management employee for a ride to Clairmont, but he refused. The employee went into Turman and when he returned, the van was missing. EPD located the vehicle in front of the turnaround near Building C on Clairmont Campus. The keys to the vehicle were missing. The information has been turned over to a detective, who processed the van at the location.
- EPD responded to Clairmont Tower Apartments on Sept. 11 at 10:27 p.m. after someone reported that residents in the lower levels were throwing bottles off the balconies. EPD checked rooms on levels two through six and spoke with the Resident Adviser and residents in a room on the fifth floor. The residents stated that someone had been throwing beer cans from the sixth floor; however, EPD was not able to make contact with whoever had been throwing the cans. The Division of Campus Life was notified.
- An Emory Police Department officer traveling southbound on Houston Mill Road observed the driver of a maroon Dodge Durango accelerating at a high speed on Sept. 13 at 3:30 p.m. The driver’s vehicle swerved into the opposite lane and almost hit the sidewalk. The car continued accelerating and finally struck a telephone pole. The vehicle flipped onto its side. The driver, a male Emory student, attempted to exit the vehicle before emergency help could arrive. He was transported to Grady Hospital and DeKalb County Police Department handled the accident report.
- An act of public indecency occurred on Sept. 13 btween 10:50 and 10:55 a.m. in Peavine Parking Deck after a security officer noticed an 18-year-old male subject urinating on the wall. The student attends Oxford College and voluntarily cleaned up the area after urinating. The report was forwarded to Oxford College.
- On Sept. 13 between 2:38 and 5:04 a.m., a 20-year-old male student and a Nored security officer observed seven or eight black male individuals looking into vehicles parked on the third level of Peavine Parking Deck. The individuals then left the third level and began jumping on cars parked on the second level and set off several car alarms. The individuals fled th scene and sped out of the parking deck.
- Someone activated the pull station fire alarm at 18 Eagle Row on Sept. 14 at 1:34 a.m. Officers responded to the scene but did not detect any sign of fire. The Division of Campus Life was notified.
- On Sept. 14 at 12:45 a.m., an EPD officer was flagged down in regards to an accident that occurred at the intersection of North Decatur Road and Clairmont Road. One vehicle with four Emory students collided with another vehicle at the location. The students refused Emory Emergency Medical Services assitance. DeKalb County handled the accident report and issued a citation for the collision.
