Police Report: April 12, 2011

• Emory Police Department (EPD) received a call about a theft from Woodruff Residential Center on April 3. A male student at the residential hall said person(s) unknown stole his Wayfarer prescription glasses, valued at approximately $300. He said he put the glasses in his backpack when he went to sleep in his room at 2:00 a.m. When he awoke at 11:00 a.m. that day he went to retrieve his glasses and found they were missing. The student experienced the same incident last semester, at which time the glasses were later returned to his room. The case has been turned over to an investigator.

• EPD responded to calls about property damage at 22 Eagle Row, the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity house, on April 4 at approximately 11:55 p.m. The incident included damage to three vehicles: a Honda CR-V, a Honda Civic and a Honda Accord, parked in the lot of the house. Due to inclement weather, a tree by the house fell and struck the three cars before landing on the house as well. When it struck the house, it caused water to leak into a stairwell from the roof of the house. Emory Facilities Management was notified of the damage, and owners of the vehicles were contacted.

• EPD responded to an incident at Woodruff Circle, outside the Woodruff Memorial Building, on April 5 at about 11:36 p.m. after receiving calls from a night mechanic at the location. The caller expressed concerns about a person in the area. Officers who arrived at the location made contact with a white male student at the bus stop on Woodruff Circle. The subject appeared to be intoxicated, and told officers he had been drinking in a room inside Harris Hall. He was told to lie down and breathe rapidly, at which time he began to lose consciousness. He was transported to Emory Hospital, and Campus Life was notified.
